MICHAEL ATTEWELL

Pegasus

With a flying horse what couldn't one do?

So off to Olympus Bellerophon flew.

Zeus couldn't have this, so he sent a gadfly

Unseating the rider, who fell, not to die,

But maimed, left to wander mid scorn and derision,

(Long before NHS or disabled provision).

Pegasus went on with his heavenward flight,

Where he still may be seen on a clear autumn night.
