MICHAEL ATTEWELL

Samson and Delilah

Like many with more brawn than brain, he had obtrusive feet,

And winning ways of killing folk or burning down their wheat.

At the sight of a girl from Gaza, Samson began to drool,

But the girl from Sorek showed him to be a

witless, total fool.

Top left, shadows of Philistines as Dagon, grim and weird.

Why didn't Samson anticipate the FOURTH time they appeared!

Delilah's hair begins the rhythms, running top to floor.

A trickle of wine shows what's to come - the spilling of Samson's gore.

The scissors' shadow, monkey, pots, all have some point to share,

And then you'll find my signature, which must be there - somewhere.
